Inner purity is a challenge that requires you to watch over your inner life with determination and diligence. In the beginning, you may feel that most of your thoughts, imaginations, and attitudes are corrupt. But as you persist, new habits develop, and with regular maintenance, you can enjoy inner purity.
What you do outwardly--the things that people see--determines your reputation with man. But your inner life determines your reputation with God.
Choosing inner purity is something you do unto the Lord to honor Him. No wonder He says a pure heart is precious in His sight!

Do you believe in God?
ReplyDeleteYES
ReplyDeleteThat must be hard. Reading your blog, I get the impression that you're hopelessly screwed up inside, ripped to shreds over practically every aspect of your life, and that you don't like it. Where does God factor into you being insane?
ReplyDelete'cause if you can figure it out. I want to know!
That is to say, if I can clarify, and use that verse as reference...If God really cares about your inner self more, mine more, wants me to focus on making my mind and spirit pure and disregard my body...If we have free will, then are we doing it to ourselves if we're a disgusting sack of potatoes inside or hasn't God played some part in that by being God and creating all other things that make the inner self so tumultuous? Why believe in and revere him in that case?
ReplyDeleteI'm tired, I doubt this makes any point, whether the one I intended or another.
Naw, that didn't make sense :(
ReplyDeleteI'd delete it if I could and spare you.
why does everyone post as anonymous....:(
ReplyDeleteIt sort of makes sense, but I don't know why you care if I believe in God or not. Doesn't make much of a difference to anyone else but myself.
ReplyDeleteAs for God factoring into me being insane, part of the reason I'm going crazy is because God isn't a part of my life anymore. I don't ask for help, therefore, I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't think I'm "hopelessly" screwed up inside. I'm hardly a hopeless case, thank God.
thanjk you for clarifying
