some things

1) Dogs are smart in ways you wouldn't normally think about. This morning when I sat down at the computer, Jonah bolted to my room to get his rawhide. I just think it's cool that he remembered where it was, or at least, could figure out where it was without any hesitation.
2) Today I experienced my first rain without clouds. The trees have some pretty thick leaves here in the jungle, so they hold a LOT of rain. Well, I was outside smoking a cigarette when the wind started blowing like crazy, so the leaves were moving like crazy. Of course, all the rain water came down, but it sounded and even looked like it was really raining. I mean, I've seen water blown from trees before, but it never made me have to look up and double check that it really wasn't raining.
3) I had a dream last night I was sucking on Subway pickles. Mmmmmmm.
4) I also dreamt Sam was throwing me a high school graduation party!!! Because I never DID have a party.
5) Broken Social Scene is recording a new album!!! I think it's going to be different from their last two, like, maybe a little more chill. They are recording in Chicago with John McEntire, who is in Tortoise and, one of my personal favorites, The Sea and Cake. You can read Kevin Drew's blog entry here. But personally, I don't think they can fully abandon their vast array of instruments they normally like to include. I mean, I just can't picture a BSS album without a horn or two, or even without a woodwind! But I guess we will just have to wait and see...
6) I woke up at, like 8:45 this morning! I don't remember the last time I've been awake this early on a Sunday on my own accord. I'm starting to like being awake, but the only problem is I get tired a lot earlier! I mean, I went to bed around 11:45 last night. Lammeeee.
7) I'm starting to like a lot of things, and people, a lot more.
8) I'm even starting to like it here.

i had some shit to say last night

But since I didn't post it, I forgot everything.
I haven't been feeling very creative lately. However, this is the news:

Apparently, Obama is going to nominate Clinton as secretary of the state on Monday. I guess that's pretty cool, I am down with that.

That's it.
I just watched Inside the Actor's Studio with Daniel Radcliffe. It was great. That kid is really cool, and very professional. I like him a lot.
Anyways, I wish I had more to say but I don't. I'm trying to find some sort of inspiration but I am dry as a bone.

2 men guilty of injecting 14 with HIV

msnbc.com

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - A Dutch court convicted two men Wednesday for attempting to infect 14 victims with HIV in a bizarre sex case.

The Groningen District Court found the two guilty of severe assault for injecting semiconscious men with HIV-infected blood at sex parties between January 2006 and May 2007.

Prosecutors had argued that the two men, along with a third who was acquitted of major charges, had drugged the 14 victims and intentionally infected them.

But in Wednesday's ruling, judges said while the victims all had HIV, it could not be proven that they were infected by the injections because they willingly took part in orgies where gay men had unprotected sex.

The suspects were not charged with attempted murder since Dutch courts have held that HIV is a chronic illness rather than an inevitably fatal one.

Okay, wait, WHAAATT???
First of all, I have to hand it to those judges for not charging those guys with attempted murder, even though I think it's pretty much been proven that HIV kills you eventually. Way to go. Second of all, I have to hand it to those guys for being so crazy. I mean, that's just really crazy. But I think anyone who participates in massive sex parties, especially of the European nature, have to be pretty unstable to begin with. They were probably all just one step away from injecting themselves with a fatal illness anyway. And who knows? Maybe they did all have AIDS. Orgies will do that do you.
I mean, wow. Our country is so behind the times. Why don't we have cases like this?

You're probably wondering, "Why did you post this, Anna? Come on!"
And I'm telling you, I am interested in the perversion of society. And I have a thing for the Dutch. Hansel and Gretel, man. They're Dutch.
